it's hard to tell, if it's only about rust, i imagine it could happen with any official game which have been in a very wet place ^^

there is many ways to distinguish an original. seeing pictures can give you an idea, but sometimes it needs to be seen for yourself. paper quality and weight, printing quality (notice, insert, sticker have different paper and inks) and an expert eye is often enough to recognize original from copy. Anyway, you can still inspect boards but it requires to have the cart opened.
